Photograph of graphite drawing of a great dane dog

This guy is one of the therapy dogs I have had the pleasure of getting to know this last year and it was an honour to be asked to draw him. This piece came with a lot of challenges, and I questioned my ability a few times, but I’m so happy with how it came out. To be fair, it was the second time drawing it because Loki stood on the first one 😹

“My husband has always had Great Danes. Ragnar, otherwise known as Rags, is his life long favourite; his ‘heart dog’. Rags is getting on a bit, so I commissioned Jay to draw Yr Hen Dyn (the old man in Welsh). My husband was over the moon, quite tearful in fact. Jay has completely captured the essence of this lovely boy.”
